On Sunday 14th July Portchester Bowling Club took part in the annual Castle Cup competition which takes place between Lockswood Bowling Club and ourselves. The cup is played for at each club on alternate years and this year it took place at Lockswood.

It was a lovely day and after trying very hard to get enough members to play in this competition, the whole day went off very well. The Pairs played from 10am to 12pm, and the Triples played from 1pm to 3pm and unfortunately Portchester was beaten by 13 to 11 points by Lockswood. It was very exciting when the afternoon session scores were looking good for Portchester, but it wasn’t to be. It was a great atmosphere and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

Thank you to everyone who took part, especially Dave Coates and Stephen Wilkinson (Wilkie) who played in both the Pairs and the Triples to make up the numbers.
